Born in Accra and raised on the rhythm of West African barbershops, Dred opened his shop on E 174th St in June 2004. For over 22 years, the chair has stayed in the same neighborhood — serving three generations of Bronx families across skin fades, hair art, knotless braids and the kind of conversation you can’t get anywhere else.
Today Dred mentors a roster of master barbers and braiding artistes, each one chosen for craft and character. The shop has become a cultural hub — where culture, conversation, and craftsmanship meet under one respected legacy.
